EASTER WEEK SERVICES

The Columbus Community of Christ is having a Maundy-Thursday service and the Lancaster Community of Christ is having a Good Friday service at 7 pm. All are invited to attend.

SENIOR HIGH RETREAT POSTPONED

Due to the weather this weekend, the Senior High Retreat at Camp Bountiful, originally scheduled for March 7-9, 2008, has been postponed to the following weekend.

The Junior High and Senior High Retreats will be held the same weekend at Camp Bountiful, March 14-16. You do not have to register again for the Senior High Retreat.

2007 Peace Colloquy
October 26–28 at the Temple, Independence, Missouri

Theme: “Real World, Real Peace: Sharing the Peace of Jesus Christ.” Each congregation is invited to send at least one representative. Five keynote speakers, 25 workshops with a priesthood and discipleship focus, children’s program, and a new youth track. See June to October Heralds for details. Help share our sacred story at Community of Christ historic sites. Volunteer positions are available in Kirtland, Ohio; Nauvoo, Illinois; Lamoni, Iowa; and Independence, Missouri. The WOMC offices will be closed March 22-April 2 due to World Conference in Independence Missouri. There are additional meetings and trips before after conference, so call ahead before coming by the office to make sure the person you are looking for will be there.

MEETINGS FOR PASTORS, COUNSELORS, AND EVANGELISTS

The next set of PCE meetings will be in August and September. For those in the North, the meeting will be at the Sandusky church on August 27, at 3:00pm. The other meeting will be held at the Grove City church at 3:00pm on September 24.

DISTRICT CONFERENCE

The Western Ohio Mission Center Conference is coming up October 28-29. Our guest ministers will be Danny and Penelope Belrose. We will be having a workshop on Saturday afternoon with them. We will have a worship and business meeting on Sunday morning. Our business will include electing delegates to our World Conference that takes place in March, 2007. Please consider if you or others in your congregation would like to represent us at this conference. More details of the MC conference will be out soon.

SPECTACULAR 2006

For one week every summer, 1000 high school age youth gather at Graceland University in Lamoni Iowa for SPECTACULAR.

This year we had another great year at SPEC. This year's theme for the week: "Have Love...." The daily themes are in Seventy Bob's daily SPEC reports.

You can read Bob's reports at SPEC2006.blogspot.com.

Bob is from Denver Colorado so his reports make several references to the Rockies delegation, but his reports cover enough of SPEC to be of interest to readers from others places. E-mails that we receive indicate that his SPEC reports are read by people all over the church.

If you are eligible to participate and haven't yet come to SPEC, consider coming next summer.

Worship, classes, sports, and arts, and entertainment are all part of the program.

It can be one of those "experiences of a life time".

We want to see you there.

DIVORCE RECOVERY SURVEY

Scott Jobe, a Community of Christ sponsored chaplain in the US Air Force, is doing a project on divorce recovery ministry as part of his Doctor of Ministry degree. He is asking divorced members of the Community of Christ throughout the United States to participate in a survey on divorce recovery ministry via the Internet. LIVING THE GOSPEL OF MARK

Spend three weeks "Living the Gospel of Mark" from April 17 - May 7, 2006. There will be daily scripture readings, you will have a verse to "live" by each day, and there will be Sunday afternoon "Exploration Sessions" April 23, April 30, and May 7. Seventy Jim Doty will lead the explorations.
