FLOODING IN HAITI

From: "Communication Services", church headquarters

This morning a small group met via teleconference with Apostle Jim Slauter and Michel Rosier, Haiti Mission Center Financial Officer. Michel reported on the severe flooding in the southeast, most rural, mountainous part of Haiti. The areas of Lafond, Bainet, and Jacmel sustained severe damage, including loss of houses, crops, and several church buildings. We are still hearing from many of our church members, but we do know that one child has died in the flooding. This situation affects several thousand of our church members in Haiti.

Oblation assistance of $5,000 has been sent today to begin to cover the most immediate needs of food, clothing, and home repair. Due to transportation, rural geography, and communication issues, this complex situation continues to be assessed and future assistance will be determined. We will share updates as we receive more information. We ask for your
continued prayers for those affected and those providing ministry and assistance in this severe situation.
